INCLUDED ON EVERY PLAN

Send Quotes for Digital Signature

Your customer gets a secure link, reviews the quote on their phone, draws their signature, and accepts. The signed agreement PDF is generated automatically. No separate e-sign platform needed.

Quote to Signed Agreement in One System

Most contractors create a quote in one tool, then chase approval by email, phone, or WhatsApp. If they use a separate e-signature service, that means another login, another subscription, and another place to manage documents.

TailoredQuote keeps everything connected. You create the quote, send it for signature, track the status, and download the signed agreement — all in the same place you already manage your quotes.

What Your Customer Sees

Your customer receives a clean, branded email with the quote total prominently displayed and a single button: “Review and accept quote.”

They click the link and land on a mobile-first page showing:

Below the quote summary, they:

No account required. No app to download. No login. They can clear and redraw their signature as many times as needed before submitting. The entire process takes under a minute.

Get quotes approved faster. No separate e-sign tool needed.

What the Signed Agreement Includes

Every signed agreement is a PDF containing the full quote details plus an appended acceptance record. That record includes:

A drawn signature, typed name, timestamp, email context, and IP address together create a stronger evidence chain than a typed name alone. The signed PDF is stored in private authenticated storage and can only be downloaded by you.

Better Than the Old Way

Without TailoredQuote
  • Email a PDF, then chase by phone
  • Wait for a vague “yeah go ahead” text
  • No clear record of when they agreed
  • Separate e-sign tool = another login, another cost
  • Quotes in one place, approvals in another
With TailoredQuote
  • Send for signature in one click
  • Customer signs on their phone in under a minute
  • Signed PDF with timestamp, signature, and IP
  • No separate platform — built into your quoting tool
  • Quote, approval, and record in one connected system

Why It’s Better Than Generic E-Signature Tools

Generic e-signature platforms like DocuSign or Adobe Sign are designed for office documents, HR contracts, and legal paperwork. They work, but they’re not built for how contractors actually send and manage quotes.

TailoredQuote’s digital signatures are different because:

Security and Record Keeping

Acceptance links use 256-bit random tokens. Each link expires automatically after 14 days. Duplicate submission protection ensures that simultaneous taps only produce one acceptance record.

Signed agreement PDFs are stored in private authenticated storage. Only you can download them — your customer cannot access the storage directly. The service role key used for storage access exists only in server-side functions, never in browser code.

Signed records are retained with no automatic deletion policy. We recommend retaining signed agreements for a minimum of 6 years in line with standard UK simple-contract record-keeping practice under the Limitation Act 1980.

Legal Context

This feature supports a Simple Electronic Signature style workflow for standard contractor quote acceptance. Under the UK Electronic Communications Act 2000 and UK eIDAS principles, electronic signatures should not be denied legal effect solely because they are electronic.

The Law Commission has confirmed that electronic signatures can generally be used for the vast majority of business transactions. A drawn signature, typed name, server-recorded timestamp, email context, and IP address create a stronger evidence chain than a typed name alone.

In Jaevee Homes Ltd v Fincham [2025] EWHC 942 (TCC), the court recognised that digital communications can form binding construction contracts where the usual elements of contract formation are present.

This workflow is designed for standard quote acceptance use cases common in the UK trades sector. It is not intended for deeds, wills, land transfers, or specialist transactions requiring more formal execution methods.

This information is provided for general guidance only and does not constitute legal advice. Contractors should ensure their own privacy policy reflects the personal data collected and the retention approach used.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does digital signature work on a TailoredQuote quote?

Tick “Request e-signature” when saving a quote, then click “Send for Signature” on your Saved Quotes page. Your customer receives a branded email with a secure link. They review the quote, draw their signature, type their name, and accept. A signed agreement PDF is generated automatically and emailed to both of you.

Does the customer need an account or app?

No. They click the link, sign on any device, and submit. No account creation, no app download, no login.

Can the customer sign on their phone?

Yes. The acceptance page is designed mobile-first. Your customer draws their signature with their finger and taps accept. It works on phones, tablets, and desktops.

What happens after the customer signs?

You receive an email notification with a direct download link to the signed agreement PDF. The badge on your Saved Quotes page updates from “Awaiting signature” to “Signed.” Your customer also receives a confirmation email with the signed PDF attached.

Can I resend the signature link?

Yes. Click “Resend Link” on your Saved Quotes page. This generates a fresh secure link and expires the previous one, so there’s no confusion about which link is current.

Is the original quote preserved in the signed agreement?

Yes. The signed PDF contains the full quote details — job description, line items, total — with the acceptance record appended. The original quote is preserved exactly as it was sent.

Is this suitable for standard contractor quote acceptance?

Yes. This workflow is designed for ordinary quote acceptance scenarios common in the UK construction and trades sector. It is not intended for deeds, wills, or specialist transactions requiring more formal execution methods.

Does TailoredQuote replace separate e-signature software?

For quote acceptance, yes. You no longer need a separate platform to get quotes signed. The entire workflow — create, send, sign, store — happens inside TailoredQuote.
