Why photos in quotes matter

A quote with photos is significantly more convincing than a text-only quote. The customer can see what you saw, understand the scope, and visualise the result. It's the difference between "we'll repair the soffits" and "here's the rotten section we're replacing".

Photos are laid out automatically based on count:

Every layout respects your letterhead margins (60pt sides, 140pt top, 100pt bottom) so your branding sits cleanly above and below the images.

Technical detail

Photos are processed entirely in your browser before upload — original files are resized to a maximum of 1600px on the long edge and re-encoded as JPEG at 85% quality. This produces typically 200–400KB per image (down from 3–8MB iPhone originals) while keeping print quality strong. A typical 8-photo quote comes in under 4MB.

Resizing happens client-side using HTML5 Canvas — your original photos never leave the browser at full size. We don't strip metadata for camera location, but you can do that in your phone's settings before taking the photo if it matters to you.

Privacy

Customer photos and project images uploaded to TailoredQuote are private by default. They are stored in your account and are not used for marketing, training, or shared with other users. We recommend keeping site photos for the duration of your record-keeping retention (6 years for UK simple contracts under the Limitation Act 1980).
