How to Use Mockup Amendments

Refine AI mockup designs with up to 3 amendments per project.

Last updated: April 2026

The AI Mockup Generator produces a photorealistic render from a single description and photo. But the first result isn’t always exactly what the customer wants. That’s where amendments come in — you can refine the design up to 3 times without starting over.

This guide walks you through the full amendment workflow.

Prerequisites

Step-by-Step Guide

1 Generate your initial mockup
Go to New Mockup, upload a photo of the room, describe the renovation, and click Generate. The AI produces your first render in under 60 seconds.
2 Review the result with your customer
Check the render against the customer’s brief. Is the tile colour right? Are the units the style they wanted? Does the flooring match? Note what needs changing.
3 Request an amendment
Below the mockup result, you’ll see the Request an Amendment card with a counter showing “Amendments: 0 of 3.” Type what you want changed — for example, “Change the worktops to white marble and replace the pendant lights with recessed downlights.” Click Request Amendment.
4 Wait for the re-render
The AI re-generates the mockup using your original photo combined with all your instructions so far. This keeps quality consistent across every amendment — no gradual degradation.
5 Repeat up to 3 times
If the customer still wants changes, request another amendment. You can make up to 3 in total. The counter updates after each one. At 3/3, the amendment button disables.
6 View the Design Evolution
On your Saved Quotes page, open the mockup. The Design Evolution strip shows every version: original photo, first render, and each amendment. Click any thumbnail to view it full-size with the amendment request text below.
Tip: If one of the 3 amendments isn’t useful, you can delete it from the Edit Mockup page. This frees up the slot for a new amendment.

How the AI Handles Amendments

Each amendment takes your original uploaded photo and combines it with all amendment instructions so far (cumulative). The AI doesn’t edit the previous render — it generates a fresh image from the original photo every time.

This is a deliberate design choice. Chaining image edits through the AI tends to degrade quality with each pass (muddier colours, lost detail). Starting from the original photo every time keeps each render sharp and faithful to the real room.

Where Amendments Appear

Tip: Be specific in your amendment request. “Change the worktops to white marble” will produce a better result than “make it look nicer.”
